Those of us who are fortunate enough to be able to work from home occasionally know that it is perhaps, paradoxically the best place to focus and plough through that proposal or report we have been planning to write for weeks. We are surrounded by home comforts, which for me would include coffee on tap, an elegant Buly 1803 , Lindt salted caramel chocolate, white tulips and silence. We can plough through our to do list without office politics intruding, and can create the perfect Zen environment where ideas and thoughts flow fluidity, and rationality and decisiveness rule.
Advancements in technology and the unpredictable winter weather sometimes mean that working from home is either inevitable, or seen as the new way of working. Those of us who work within attractive flexible working policies know that not only is this way of working sometimes more practical, it is a benefit which can yield substantial returns for our employers.
This is how work should be constructive, purposeful, innovative, with coffee and chocolate benefits included.

I worked from home for three years. The novelty quickly wore off and I craved the office buzz. Now after several years back in an open plan office, I could quite happily do one or two days at home!
