It is almost 14 years since I graduated from University with my LLB (Hons) in Law and European languages; confident that one day I would be lead counsel on some of the most significant legal cases in England and Wales. Well, 14 years later with five languages and soon an MBA under my belt that dream has long since passed. I am happy to leave the balancing of the scales of justice to those with far greater legal minds than I.

Tights v Stockings
Tights are practical, stockings are sexy, blah, blah, blah.
Well here is some news hot of the press, stockings are sexy and so are tights, but even more important they are a stable part of most women’s Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Think of hosiery as an enabler, an enhancer, and a friend.
The Monday Morning Blues (MMBs)
Let’s face it after a fabulous weekend spent by the beach, by the lake or in our own back garden, a funny feeling comes over us at about 8pm on a Sunday evening. At the strike of the hour our minds drift from the relaxation and frivolity of the weekend to strategy, case files, presentations, reports, projects, and email!
Shortly after I have run through the entirety of my diary for the week in my head, my thoughts turn to the ubiquitous question which every woman asks herself, ‘what am I going to wear tomorrow?
Trench Coats….and Wellies!
Living in the UK rain is often expected, tolerated and endured for at least two thirds of the year, so why not work with rain, not against it.

A sartorial doff to an honourable lady
Calling all fans of the ‘Honourable Woman’ TV series…….
For eight weeks I was glued to my TV every Thursday night at 9pm, because it was the hour of the honourable woman, played by the phenomenal Maggie Gyllenhaal. Glasses, spectacles, you name it I have been wearing them for decades. My superficial relationship with glasses started in the late eighties following a fantastic episode of the Clothes Show, which featured a segment on some fabulous eyewear. I remember thinking ‘I don’t really need to wear glasses ..….and that’s a shame because they are so hot right now. This was the late eighties, I was about 10 years old and I thought print jumpers with matching sock were cool! *Note to self socks and matching jumpers are never anything but sad!

As an ambitious and confident new graduate we are keen to create the best possible first impression. We have crafted the perfect CV, been coached on everything from psychometric tests to effective presentation skills. We have practiced our interview technique until nobody in our family or friendship network can take any more. Extensive research has been undertaken on our future employer on everything from their CSR strategy to their current stock price, but as our day to excel and shine approaches we may have overlooked one last and important detail…..what am I going to wear?
A/W 14/15 Capsule Casual Smarts
It is that time of year again, the autumn/winter season is upon us, and everywhere we turn we are getting tips on how to create the perfect Autumn/Winter wardrobe. This is about the time that I begin to think that I have nothing in my wardrobe that is suitable for the new season, and go on numerous spending sprees trying to obtain the must have pieces that I just have to buy right now…
Commutista
I don’t know about you, but public transport is a big part of my commuter life. It gets me to work in the morning, and usually on time with only ever a minor hiccup… I am lucky in that I actually get a seat on most mornings, and come rain, snow, or shine my local tram will be operating.
